Dr. Kimball was born and raised in Laguna Beach. He fell in love with orthodontics as child when his father, Dr. Stanley C. Kimball, also an orthodontist, gave him the opportunity to make his retainers and other orthodontic appliances. After graduating from Laguna Beach High School, he attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and served a mission for his church in Puerto Rico. He earned his doctorate degree at Washington University where he graduated cum laude. He went on to obtain his M.S. degree in orthodontics from Marquette University, graduating with honors.

Dr. Kimball is passionate about orthodontics and is an active member in professional organizations such as the American Association of Orthodontists, the California Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists and several study clubs. In addition, he is a board eligible member of the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. Kimball is the author an creator of Orthoease, a comprehensive Orthodontic Practice Management Software, which you can see managing his practice. Orthoease is used by orthodontic practices all over the world. He is an active member of his church and community and has held many leadership positions which include: Cub Scout leader and currently as an assistant Scout Master. He is also an Eagle Scout.

His hobbies include: distance running (he has completed 9 marathons including the prestigious Boston Marathon twice), Ironman training (he recently completed the Oceanside Half Ironman), surfing, snowboarding, golf, spending time with his wife of 20 years and 3 children and hanging out with his 6 brothers.
